FUEL SYSTEM CONTAMINATION
SEATBELTS AND RESTRAINTS; OPERATION AND USE
The result of mechanical malfunctions can vary from annoying to deadly. Fuel system contamination may be the result of vandalism, improper fuel type or fuel storage tank level contamination. Although the effects of fuel contamination may be more annoying than dangerous, the repairs can be expensive and the loss of use costly. Using systems diagnostics, laboratory analysis and understanding of fuel system operation, the allegation of fuel system contamination can not only be verified but the extent of damage established.
The failure of one or more mechanical systems is often blamed for causes of collision some of which, in our experience have resulted in occupant and/or pedestrian fatalities. Uncontrolled accelerations and brake failures are often blamed for injuries to drivers and occupants alike as well as pedestrians who may be in the path of an uncontrolled vehicle. Engine failures and wheels detachments have left vehicle stranded in the road and exposed to unknowing traffic. Detached wheel become projectiles. Utilizing contemporary electronic diagnostics, event data recorder technology, traditional technician diagnostic procedures and many years of investigative experience, evidence of malfunction (or lack thereof) and/or the causes of that malfunction may be identified.
